First check out-http://www.google.com/ig?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&hl=en, It is iGoogle.com. It offers a wide selection of recent and current events. And for bonus content you can sign up for a iGoogle account. So you find igoogle news on your Google home page.

And another website I would recommend is http://www.cnn.com/. This one is popular and has more global news. It is a news filled website.

These websites offer the news content people want and most viewers go to these two websites more than any other news source. So if you look at these websites you are looking at the greatest news websites ever made.
